Exits Poll had estimated that Vladimir Putin to win the upcoming Russian election amidst the Ukraine conflict

Russian Exit Poll: In the recent exit poll, the Vladimir Putin is going secured another six-year term as Russian president, exit polls making him the longest-serving Russian leader in after 200 years in Russian history. The government-run VTsIOM pollster had projected that Putin is going to get easy victory with 87 percent of the vote after polls closed in Russia’s most probably the western-most region of Kaliningrad on the Baltic Sea.

As per the poll, the present head of state Vladimir Putin will win the upcoming election and will overtake Joseph Stalin to become Russia’s longest-serving leader for more than 200 years. Over this poll, other countries like Britain, Poland, Germany and the US have criticized the election process as they call the election process neither free nor fair. The British Foreign Office minister David Cameron had said that “a lack of choice for voters and no independent monitoring”. With that, the Polish Foreign Office called for Russian voting to take place in conditions of extreme repression of opposition through the oppressive machinery of Russia of Putin. The German Foreign Ministry called the process a pseudo-election and the White House said the elections were “obviously not free, nor fair”.
