Biden Administration Ban TikTok,following India
USA Ban Tiktok: On March 13, 2024, the United States House of Representatives passed a bill for ban of the popular social media platform TikTok in the country, following their counterpart Indian footprint of April 2016 with support with a vote of 352 to 65 in favor . President Joe Biden has also favoured the signing the bill into law raising the CCP goverment concerns.
CHINESE RESPONSE OVER IT
ByteDance which is parent company of Tiktok had raised their concern over it calling it a unconstitutional in strong words. Over which they had realased their statement ,detailing the process “secret” and the bill “jammed through for one reason: It’s a ban.” If the bill becomes law, ByteDance will have six months to take out from its US assets or be ready to face a ban on other app in the United States. Wang Wenbin also criticized the House’s decision in their press realase logic of a bandit”principles of fair competition and international trade ruleswillfully suppress other countries’ superior companies
